Colourful Start to 2021 For Brad Jones Racing

The cars of many colours will continue to roll out from Brad Jones Racing through 2021.

Ahead of the Supercars test day for Victorian teams, just down the road from BJR HQ in Albury at Winton, the colours for the cars of Nick Percat and Todd Hazelwood have been revealed.

The sponsors that are splashed on the cars are familiar favourites at BJR, Dunlop and RJ Batteries, and so too are the comeback drivers who will race alongside Macauley Jones and Jack Smith, with the family’s SCT Logistics branding on his Commodore.

BJR was one of the break-out successes of last year’s Covid-2020 season, adapting quickly and confidently to the restricted rules on crew members and mix-and-max tyre allocations.

Percat finished the championship in seventh position, his best result in the main game, and scored two wins at Sydney Motorsport Park.

“The team has had a good break and we have some new updates for the cars to try and take another step forward in battle for race wins each weekend,” Percat said as he prepares for the new season.

“I’m hoping we can repeat the speed we had at Bathurst last year for Round One this year.”

Hazelwood has a special milestone for the season.

“I feel refreshed and well prepared for a big year ahead and cannot wait to start my second season with the team at Brad Jones Racing. 2021 also marks the first time in my Supercars career where I’ve raced the same chassis for a second year in a row. This gives me an opportunity to start the year with a good bank of knowledge and understanding of how to extract the most out of the chassis set-up,” he said.

The pre-season testing at Winton is going ahead ahead, despite several days of delay because of the latest Covid-19 lock-down in Victoria, but there will be tight restrictions on people attending. Anyone travelling from interstate to the event has been advised to avoid travelling through Melbourne, there will be mask protocols, and journalists have been excluded with Supercars Media handling coverage of the test.
