ENFORCER AND THE KID STRIKE THEIR COLOURS

Supercheap Auto has taken a light-hearted swipe at Repco while revealing its Bathurst 1000 livery for Russell Ingall and Broc Feeney.

The rear of the pair’s Triple Eight Commodore is splashed with the words ‘We still love you Bathurst XO XO’ in a clear reference to Supercheap’s loss of the naming-rights sponsorship for The Great Race.

The racer-red Commodore is also patriotically splashed with ‘Proudly Australian’ branding and Aussie flags.

“I think if there was any doubt about the passion Supercheap Auto and its people have for motorsport, they have all been erased today,” says Ingall

“This whole exercise has seen a collaboration from so many people. All of them getting on with the job with a real Australian ‘can do’ attitude.

“I think the car will be one of the best looking race cars I have ever driven at Bathurst and I cannot wait to see the fans’ reaction.”

The old man and the youngster are racing as ‘The Enforcer and the Kid’, a tagline on their race suits, as Feeney takes over the nickname originally used by Craig Lowndes during his early days with the Holden Racing Team.

The ongoing rivalry between Supercheap and Repco, which sees Repco backing the Supercars Championship and Supercheap headlining at the TCR Australia Series, the reveal of the racing livery was used as a celebration at Supercheap’s Brisbane headquarters.

“Today is about bringing our team together, sharing our passion for Bathurst and our continued commitment to Australian motorsport,” says Benjamin Ward, managing director of Supercheap Auto.

“We are proudly Australian owned and the team environment we have built around our long-term commitment to the sport is quite incredible and worth celebrating.
