When David Reynolds put himself on pole position for Supercars race #2 at Townsville he was mobbed by the happy crew at Team 18. Charlie Schwerkolt could not stop smiling for the cameras.

And then came James Courtney, for a special veteran-to-veteran hug at the back of the T18 garage. There were more smiles and some special words.

It was a great gesture by Courtney, who plans to finish his full-time Supercareers career at the end of the year aged 45 but still made the Top 10 in Townsville, and the newly-turned-40 'youngster' in the Tradie Camaro.
