Oscar on top. Victory in Saudi Arabia, his third win of the 2025 season, has given Oscar Piastri a 10-point advantage at the top of the Formula One standings. It is the first time since 2010, when it was Piastri's manager Mark Webber who led the standings, that an Australia driver has topped the grand prix points table.

Sixty-six to one. A sensational back-to-front drive was rewarded with a hard-fought first place for Cameron Crick and Dean Campbell in the Bathurst 6-Hour race for production cars. The BMW pair led home defending and two-time champions Jayden Ojeda, Simon Hodge and George Miedecke in another BMW, with Aaron Seton, Todd Hazelwood and Jason Gomersall taking third in a Ford Mustang after a torrid day of racing by a record 70-car field.

TransAm tussles. Todd Hazelwood continued his National TransAm winning streak over the Bathurst 6-Hour weekend as Ben Gomersall took top points from the TA2 Muscle Car field. The V8-powered muscle machines turned on plenty of action through three events, although the final was red-flagged after a multi-car pile-up on the top of the Mountain.

Ferrari wins at home. There was no surprise when Ferrari took the 6 Hours of Imola at its home circuit, as former Le Mans winners Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado and Antonio Giovinazzi shared the first-placed 499P. There was plenty of variety in the field, with 18 Hypercars competing at the first European event of the World Endurance Championship, as BMW took second with Sheldon Van Der Linde, René Rast, and Robin Frijns and the third-placed Alpine was crewed by Charles Milesi, Mick Schumacher, and Jules Gounon.

First look. Genesis has unveiled the GMR-001 Hypercar it will race at Le Mans in 2026, in surprising orange bodywork which is said to be linked to the company's South Korean heritage. There is no technical detail yet for the V8 engine and hybrid package for the car, although the car uses an ORECA chassis.

Swedish raider. The Australian Rally Championship will get another international kick, following the arrival of Kiwi raider Hayden Paddon for a full campaign, when Swedish driver Tom Kristensson drives a Skoda Fabia in the second leg of the series in Perth. The entry of Kristensson and co-driver Andreas Johansson is being managed by Dean Herridge under the Maximum Motorsport banner in Scott Pedder’s Fabia R5 from last year.

Indy begins. The build-up to the 109th running of the Indianapolis 500 begins this week with two days of open testing at the Brickyard. Track times begins with veterans on Wednesday morning, followed by the Rookie Orientation Program and refresher tests before a 'high boost' session on Thursday.
