Supra on show. The first Supra Supercar will break cover at the back end of next month, according to Ryan Walkinshaw, but Toyota has just given a sneak peak at the car that will follow – perhaps in 2027. It's a concept car that ran up the hill at the Goodwood Festival of Speed at the weekend and, despite the camouflage, it's clearly a front-engined two-door coupe that hints strongly at the future direction for a Toyota road-going hero car.

Indy twin winners. Pato O'Ward got the first W in the IndyCar double-header at Iowa speedway but there was nothing he could do to stop the Alex Palou freight train in the second speedway contest. It was another forgetable weekend for Scott McLaughlin, who was speedy in practice but crashed in qualifying.

Marquez again, and again. Alex Marquez is now the second most-successful racer in MotoGP history, overtaking legendary Giacomo Agostini with his 69th win from 100 starts at the Sachsenring with Ducati. Marquez also bagged the sprint race despite wet weather and a poor start that put him back in the pack.

Making history. Tickford Racing set a new benchmark for Super2 racing when the team's Mustangs finished 1-2-3-4 on the streets of Townsville. Lochie Dalton headlined the landmark finish on Saturday and did it again on Sunday for Tickford as he took the win in a 1-2-3 finish for the Ford team.

SvG goes 1-2 in Sonoma. Shane Van Gisbergen swept to a pair of pole positions on the Sonoma road course in California, starting at the front for both the XFinity and Cup contests. But he suffered a rare defeat when he was 'only' second in XFinity behind – ironically –his 18-year-old team-mate Connor Zilisch, before rebounding for the W in the main event.

Chaos in Townsville. A giant crash was the unfortunate highlight of the Michelin Sprint Challenge action on the streets of Townsville. Marcos Flack claimed top spot in the fourth leg of the series, taking the round win ahead of Lockie Bloxsom and Kamal Mrad.

New gas for Toyota in Rally2. Four-time World Rally Championship winner Juha Kankkunen will take Toyota on the next leg of its move into hydrogen power in motorsport. He will drive a Yaris GR fueled by hydrogen for a demonstration run at Rally Finland.
