Shane Howard of Supercars is one of the first to congratulate Kai Allen in Darwin.

Welcome to the club. He is only 19 and only had 22 Supercars starts, but Kai Allen scored his first podium on Saturday in Darwin with Grove Racing. Then he did it again on Sunday, going one better with second place ahead of his team-mate Matt Payne as the youngsters continue to push their presence at the top of touring car racing.

Centenary man. Marc Marquez took his total of pole positions in MotoGP to 100 at Mugello in Italy. He also converted with victory in the Saturday sprint for Ducati, before taking a landmark 93rd win in the main event as he and Ducati continue to stamp their domination on this year's world title.

Heading to American (again). Cam Waters is packing his bags for another trip to the USA to continue his infatuation with NASCAR racing. This time he'll be at the Lime Rock road course, racing in the Truck series with Thor Sport Racing.

Predictable IndyCar outcome. Scott McLaughlin led for a time, but it was Alex Palou who won again, this time on the road course at Road America, to stretch his points break at the top of the IndyCar standings. McLaughlin was eventually 12th and Will Power 14th as they look to be well out of contention for this year's series crown.

Moffat beats Hazelwood. James Moffat got his TransAm championship on track when he did the job on Todd Hazelwood in Darwin. Hazelwood started on top, but Moffat got back-t0-back wins on Sunday in a return to his previous front-running form in the stout supporting series.

O'Keefe sweeps Cup Car. Dylan O'Keefe changed the look of the Carrera Cup standings for the first time in 18 months with a clean sweep in Darwin. He bettered Harri Jones and Bayley Hall for a maximum score, which was made even sweeter for the GWR Australia teamwhen Matt Belford claim the Pro-Am class for the weekend.

Pick your winner. Voting is about to begin for the 100th member of the Australian Motorsport Hall of Fame, joining such famous names as Sir Jack Brabham, Alan Jones and mighty Mick Doohan, who will be announced at next year's Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne. The annual awards began in 2016 and this time the organisers are calling for nominations from ordinary fans, who can send their choice for the honour to the Australian Motorsport Hall of Fame website.
